Sudbury Upper School
Changing to Foundation Status and Acquiring a Charitable Trust

Following on from the public consultation, and feedback from parents and our other stakeholders, the Governors have decided to move forward with the proposal to change the status of the School and move, together with Great Cornard Upper School and Technology College, to acquire a shared charitable trust - The Stour Education Trust.

Full details of the proposal, together with the notice, are available on the school's website (www.sus.suffolk.sch.uk) and are also available on request from the school.

The publication of the formal notice allows a time for representations to be made to the Governing Body of the school. This runs from February 25th 2009 until March 25th 2009 and the final decision will be made on April 22nd 2009.

If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the School.

The Chamber has helped avoid a repeat of the chaos that happened when parking tickets were introduced. We successfully lobbied Babergh District Council to take more action to ensure the public were properly notified about the car park charges. We persuaded them to write to every town centre business and to put A boards by the car park exits.
